When do balloons fly?
Flights take off around sunrise. Pickup is usually 1–1.5 hours before the departure window shown for each operator.
What happens if the flight is cancelled for weather?
The civil aviation authority (SHGM) decides each morning. If your flight is cancelled you can pick another date or operator during your stay, or take a full refund.
Why book the first morning?
Weather cancellations are common. Flying on your first morning leaves the rest of your stay to rebook.
Can children fly?
Each operator sets a minimum age; it is shown on every offer and checked at checkout.
Safety and weather
Only licensed operators can list here. Wind and visibility limits are set by the authority; pilots never fly without permission.
How flight permission works
Every morning SHGM publishes whether balloons may fly in the region. We only show a status when one has been officially recorded.
Hotel pickup
Most operators pick you up from hotels in Göreme, Uçhisar, Ürgüp, Avanos and nearby. Pickup time is confirmed the evening before.
